Membership

CVS Inverclyde is a membership organisation.  Although it does include some benefits, membership is not a requirement to use our services. Instead membership is primarily for those organisations who:

  • want to support the work that CVS does
  • agree with our values and approaches
  • support our strategy for developing the role of communities and the third sector
  • want to be involved in the governance of the organisation

We have three types of full membership:

  • Third sector organisations (community groups, voluntary organisations or social enterprises) operating in Inverclyde that have a legal identity (e.g. a company limited by guarantee) can be a member
  • Third sector organisations operating in Inverclyde that do not have a legal identity (e.g. an association or a trust) can nominate a person to be a member on their own behalf
  • People who live or work in Inverclyde can be an individual member.

In addition to our full membership we also offer associate membership to organisations that do not qualify for full membership but who share our values.  This currently includes community councils and public bodies.

Membership is currently free and includes a small number of benefits such as occasional free use of our training room.  If you would like to apply for membership please contact Ian Bruce or phone the office on 01475 711 733.
