|Wednesday 11 October 2017, 08:45am - 02:00pm |
Our Place Our Future
Early Bird tickets available via our Eventbrite page for only £10 per delegate!
We look forward to seeing you at our annual third sector conference this October, so please add the date to your diary now!
This year it is themed Our Place Our Future, as we take the opportunity to feedback on the recent Inverclyde-wide survey by the same name - it gathered opinion to help shape the Inverclyde Community Planning Partnership's Local Outcome Improvement Plan for the area and inform the initial drafts of Locality Plans, which are a requirement of the Community Empowerment Act.
Following registration over coffee with an opportunity to network and visit the stalls, our programme kicks off with a panel debate hosted by Annie Gunner Logan, Director of the Coalition of Care & Support Providers, who encouraged engagement and kept the momentum going for us so expertly at last year's conference. Our panel participants this year are:
Stephen McCabe, Leader, Inverclyde Council (and Chair of the Inverclyde Alliance)
Kevin Scarlett, Chief Executive, River Clyde Homes
Allan Johnstone, Chief Executive, Voluntary Action Scotland, and
Ian Bruce, Chief Executive Officer, CVS Inverclyde
The focus will be on the findings from Our Place Our Future – particularly what it means to the third sector and where organisations and individuals can best engage in the process.
Following a networking break from 10.30am to 11am, we will launch into a series of workshops before concluding with a networking lunch from 1pm to 2pm. Workshop themes include a chance to look in a little more depth at Our Place Our Future and Inverclyde's future priorities with Inverclyde Council's Miriam McKenna; Getting Ready for General Data Protection Regulations (GDPR) next spring with Alison Johnston, Lead Policy Officer at the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO); the always popular session on local funding opportunities with CVS Inverclyde Strategic Investment Officer, Susan Robinson; Participatory Budgeting with Jez Hall of PB Partners; and from Trust Volunteering, Myth Busting- Involving under 16's and older volunteers.
Our brief AGM for CVS Inverclyde members takes place at 1pm.
Thanks to support from organisations including the Oak Mall Shopping Centre and Love & Humphries, we are able to keep the Early Bird discount at just £10 until Friday 29 September. Thereafter it will be £20 per delegate.
