Free 24-hour Dedicated Helpline for Older People

Esther Rantzen launches a free 24-hour dedicated helpline for older people that aims to provide friendship and combat loneliness. 'The Silver Line' aims to combat loneliness in the over-65s by providing friendship, information and advice through calls to trained volunteers.

Community Empowerment Bill - Consultation event

You are invited to an event which offers a chance for people from all sectors of society to learn more about the proposals and discuss their reactions to the consultation (which ends 24 January 2014). Organised by CDAS and the Scottish Community Development Centre, the event is being held on:
Thursday, 12 December 2013 at Southside Community Centre, 117 Nicolson Street, Edinburgh EH8 9ER, 10.30am – 1pm (Registration and snack – 10am).

Practitioners Forum

The next Practitioners Forum which is scheduled for the 5th of December will be the Employability Forum which was cancelled in October .

The mailing list has been passed to Shaun Lundy who will be sending out an invite to the group .The Forum Will have a different format without guest speakers and more group discussions ,it will still be at Branchton for a 10am start with teas and coffees for 9.45am.
